“Zeb, Zebby, Zippity Do Dah!”

Just about any name that you can come up with that starts with a Z, Zeb will come running from across the field when he hears it. While he is personable and friendly 90% of the time, he has quirks that will require some additional training references. Zeb has food aggression and is best if left alone while eating. He can be defensive over small movements but is not what I would call an ‘agressive’ horse- I would consider his afraid and defiant from having a strong inconsistent hand in the past. Zeb had a body score of 2 on arrival with his halter heavily embedded enough to need sedation and the vet to assist in removal. Over the last year we have struggled with his weight and quirks to get him to a safe spot mentally so that he can start to learn a new job and ultimately enjoy it.

Our first lunging last year was very rusty and he actually started stomping at the lungeline, after time off though, we tried again and i expected to start over with the same horse that we had last year- SURPRISE!! We lunged flawlessly both directions in a frame with absolutely no dramatic reaction even with the rope being thrown all over him body!

I have no doubt that Zeb can have a fantastic second career but having a perfect personality match is a MUST.
